Court TV DUI Interview imageWith a national reputation as The Dean of DUI Attorneys, Lawrence Taylor is a former prosecutor, Fulbright Professor of Law and Dean of the National College for DUI Defense, and is the author of the standard textbook in the field, Drunk Driving Defense, 7th edition. He has consistently received the highest ratings possible from AVVO, Martindale-Hubbell and The Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers, and has been repeatedly named in Los Angeles magazine's annual "Southern California Super Lawyers" issue based upon polls of over 65,000 attorneys. Mr. Taylor is one of only two DUI attorneys in the U.S. to be recognized with a biography in Wikipedia and one of only five in California to receive the ABA-approved designation "Board Certified in DUI Defense Law" -- and the only one further designated "Senior Specialist".

On April 17, 2013, the United States Supreme Court handed down its decision in the landmark DUI case of Missouri v. McNeely. In so doing, Chief Justice Roberts cited Mr. Taylor's preeminent treatise Drunk Driving Defense (7th edition) as authority in the field.

Extensive information concerning the nature of your DUI arrest, the criminal and license suspension procedures, the possible consequences and far more can be found through the links on the drop-down menus of the navigation bar at the top of this page. These include such critically important subjects as:

IMPORTANT: You or your attorney must call the local DMVs Driver Safety Office (DSO) within 10 calendar days of the arrest to request an administrative hearing in order to challenge the DUI license suspension. If this is not done by the end of the 10th day, your right to a hearing will be lost and the suspension of your drivers license will take effect 30 days after the arrest. Although it is preferable to have a DUI defense attorney arrange for the hearing, if you are unable to retain one before the 10th day you should call the DSO yourself to schedule the hearing; your attorney can later make any changes if necessary, such as the hearing date.
